As we run a market for low income seniors, households and students, eggs are a very precious commodity. We use these cartons to split the dozen eggs into halves so everyone can have some.

break apart 6 egg cartons..

They are ok. too flimsy and tend to break apart very easily and not wanting to hold up to 12 at a time. They are ok and we will use for folks that just want 6 at a time. did purchase the styrofoam cartons which are a lot more sturdier.

The idea behind a 6-egg split carton is to easily be split and be able to transport a smaller quantity of eggs at a time, most customers who order these buy them to hold six eggs. They are designed to break apart easily - we have had customers in the past say they were too sturdy. I apologize that they didn't do what you needed and maybe the cartons that are made for a dozen eggs are better for you, such as the styrofoam you ordered.
